Resource Details

Triggers are situations, feelings, or sensations that remind a survivor of the trauma they experienced and cause them to re-experience symptoms of trauma. For survivors who dissociate, triggers can cause overwhelming feelings and memories leading to dissociation. Join part three of a four part panel discussion to learn more about triggers, how they impacts the lives of survivors, and what advocates can do to help survivors who experience triggers. Panelists joining for these conversations include Olga Trujillo, a survivor and expert on dissociative identity disorder, Nicole Matthews, an expert on sexual violence and advocacy in Native communities, and Kris Bein, an expert on advocacy skills.
