Dissociation is a common tool the brain uses to cope from traumas such as sexual violence. Every sexual assault advocate has supported a survivor who dissociates, whether they know it or not. Join part one of this four part panel discussion to learn more about what dissociation is, how it impacts the lives of survivors, and what advocates can do to help survivors navigating dissociation. Panelists joining for these conversations include Olga Trujillo, a survivor and expert on dissociative identity disorder, Nicole Matthews, an expert on sexual violence and advocacy in Native communities, and Kris Bein, an expert on advocacy skills.
