Community involvement is vital to a sexual violence program’s well-being, especially in rural areas. Still, many programs struggle with how to support their community in a meaningful way and how to sustain long-term support and engagement. Along with developing our understanding of the term community, we will:
•Examine our current relationships with our communities
•Reflect on our responses to sexual violence on a communal level
•Identify the various aspects of building and maintaining connections and
•Explore how to center our community’s needs and participation as a focal point of our program’s functions.
